Aboriginal Cultural Day Chidlow Primary School October 18 2017

Olman Walley and his fellow presenter Cameron, presented to the children of Chidlow Primary School, a series of Aboriginal Cultural Workshops in topics from the Australian Curriculum in HASS and Science.
The pair brought with them artefacts used by Aboriginal people for collecting and hunting food, making music and creating stories of connection to the land.
During the workshops our students learnt dances of dreamtime animals and heard the playing of didgeridoo by expert musician Olman. They also experienced learning the language of the Noongar People who are the Aboriginal language group of our region. Other topics discussed were the Noongar Seasons and the Aboriginal connection to place and space.
The workshops were funded by a PALs Grant from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs. (Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage)
